by LSP on Jan.30, 2011, under Austria, Snow
Mission to Mühlbach to find some pow…
Really fun day plus Piers loves editing so we pooled the photos.
I could do with a break from editing images so I’m very happy to chill after a day of great riding…
We did a couple of good hikes.
Piers launching
Piers had his wedding on the slopes of the snowy face opposite the bowl we were standing on.
Gaissau mission

Four horses got lose and were running down the duel carriage way towards traffic…I grabbed my camera just in time to catch the last one canter past…
Henry didnt deem that very important so puked on himself and went to sleep content…:)
We drove 20 minutes out of Salzburg and found a spot for a little kicker.
Piers was on babysitting duty so I sorted him out with my 7d, some sweet settings and a flash, and told him to keep shooting…
So I’ll take at least half the credit for the images I didnt shoot, although I actually got to go hit the jump while papa held the fort…Love you brov
Benny went first…
Since I’m normally on the other side of the lens I only just noticed that I have a bit of an odd hand style when I method.

Hooked up with the Brov in Salzburg and went up to Sportgastein…
Some powder, some sun, some wind…
Some photos by me, some by the brov – its a novelty to not be the photographer all the time…
A good day.

Deep Winter Photo Challenge 2011
by LSP on Jan.18, 2011, under Canada, Photography, Snow
All Photos: Copyright Blake Jorgenson
I managed to snag some tickets to the annual Deep Winter Photo Challenge event in Whistler.
Basically the whos who of established and up and coming snow photographers have 3 days to shoot and put together a 5 minute slide show of shots in Whistler using whatever crew they can put together, and the results are all judged at the event by well known figures in the snow industry. Its also an excuse for a big sociable booze up and I ran in to a bunch of old friends.
Blake Jorgenson was the overal winner with a dark moody slideshow filled with epic pow and lifestyle shots.
Afterwards we ended up in a restaurant where my friend works, and they had a bunch of his photos on the walls…so I shot a few rip offs… Check his site here for some slick images…

Brisbane floods
by LSP on Jan.18, 2011, under Australia, Disaster!, Environment, Rivers..., Underwater, Urban
While we have been away, Brisbane and various other parts of Australia have suffered massive flooding.
Apparently 90% of the country’s wheat crop has been destroyed as well as countless thousands of people homes and livelihoods.
