End of the year

by on Dec.22, 2010, under 7D, Photography, Work!

Last days of work before we kick back for some family and snow time…

I’ve shot over 1000 properties this year and just finished with a cracker of a house:

Sitting on the top of a hill with a 40 acre farm surrounding it so preventing any close buildings…

A long open plan multi level mainly wooden home with a lot of glass and amazing views from every room, and decks on all sides…

Oh and a lap pool at 90 degrees through the house…

Pretty close to my ideal home…

398 image blend…

I’m wondering how far this can go (other than the battery limitation issue…)

New Lens

by on Oct.28, 2010, under 7D, Beaches, Outdoors!, Photography, Sydney

I’ve always had high quality lens at the wide end of the scale but never spent money on a good zoom.
So I finally stepped up and bought a proper Canon 2.8 zoom…with the OZ$/US$ exchange rate it was an absolute steal – almost half the price even after import compared to the same model a friend bought 3 years ago…
So I took it down to the beach for a quick test run after work…first impressions are that its bloody heavy but with the right settings it is clearly an exceptionally good piece of glass…

Just as I got down to the water a pod of dolphins came flying past…they were going at an amazing pace and I only got time to fire off one quick burst from a distance as they raced round the Bower…

This guy was hanging out on the cliffs soaking up the last of the suns warmth…

I think he was hoping to get some action but the Mrs was more interested in hugging a branch…

Surf lifesavers practicing…

The seagulls around here are pretty hectic if you are eating…

I worked out a new way to layer up multiple shots without causing the memory on my computer to have a meltdown…

First test: 215 shot blend…

I had half an hour to burn between jobs so messed about with some HDR by Redfern station…

Firewater and Vivid

by on Jun.13, 2010, under 7D, Architecture, ART!, Sydney, Urban

The Firewater and Vivid Festival have been on in Sydney for the last few weeks…various prominent landmarks around the CBD have been lit up with pretty interesting projections that constantly change.

I have made a load of timelapses which I will process and edit together soon, but here are a few stills for now…
